Four days. One booth. Hundreds of conversations that confirmed what we already believed -Indian manufacturing is ready for a smarter way to operate. And Odoo ERP is that way.
From 22 to 25 July 2026, Greytrix Business Solutions exhibited at Automation Expo 2026 -the 19th India International Trade Show – at Booth K14A, Hall No. 2, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai. This is our recap. The real one -not a press release.
Automation Expo 2026 opened with an inauguration graced by Dr. Shrikant Patil, CEO of Maharashtra State Innovation Society, Dr. Amit Vyaas, Managing Director of Amul Dairy, Mr. Harimohan Gupta, Managing Director of IRCON International, Mr. Mike Trikoilis, VP and GM EMEA at Eaton, and Dr. B.R. Mehta, Senior Vice President at Reliance Industries Ltd.
700+ exhibitors. 65,000+ visitors. 40,000+ automation solutions under one roof. The theme –The Shape of Things to Come -was not just a tagline. It was a description of every conversation we had at the booth.
The industries most represented at our booth were machine manufacturing, automation, and robotics -sectors where production complexity and supply chain integration create the most operational pain.
Three questions came up in almost every meaningful conversation:
“What exactly is Odoo and what can it do for my business?”
For many visitors, this was their first serious encounter with Odoo. The question reflected a genuine gap -manufacturers who have been sold generic ERP for years and are now looking for something that actually fits their workflow.
“What does implementation cost -and how long does it take?”
Every decision-maker wanted this answered. Pricing and timeline being top of mind is a healthy sign -it means visitors were evaluating, not browsing.
“Can Odoo be configured to match my workflow -not the other way around?”
This was the most important question. Demonstrated live at the booth, the answer was yes -and seeing it created the most visible engagement of any demo moment across four days.
One platform. Every department. Fully connected.
Modular investment. Start small. Scale smart.
Yes. Odoo configures to you -not the other way around.
Beneath the specific questions was one common thread -manufacturers are not getting enough from their current ERP. And they know exactly why.
Our sales team heard it consistently: visitors described being unable to utilise Odoo at its full potential because their implementation partner did not have the expertise to configure it properly for their business. This is a real and growing problem in the Indian ERP ecosystem. As Odoo adoption grows, so does the number of partners claiming expertise without the experience to back it up.
Greytrix Business Solutions has been implementing ERP for over 25 years. Our approach has always been business-first -understand the operational reality first, then configure the system.
CRM and Sales Pipeline
Lead management, pipeline tracking, and automated follow-ups generated strong interest -particularly from manufacturers managing their sales process across WhatsApp, email, and Excel today.
Manufacturing -BOM, Work Centers, Work Orders, Real-Time Production Tracking
Seeing a production order flow from BOM to work center to completed goods without manual intervention was a genuine moment of realisation for several visitors.
Maintenance Module -The Surprise Hit
One visitor specifically asked how Odoo connects equipment tracking with maintenance activities and manages the complete maintenance lifecycle. The requirement had not been a prominent part of our planned demo -but Odoo handled it natively and the conversation that followed was one of the most detailed of the entire event.
eCommerce -Amazon and Flipkart Integration
As Indian manufacturers increasingly sell direct through marketplaces, connector integration with Amazon and Flipkart is becoming a critical ERP requirement -not an edge case. This conversation confirmed it.
Feedback was consistent -visitors appreciated Odoo’s flexibility, breadth of modules, and ability to configure workflows without forcing businesses to change their processes. Those who had experienced other ERP systems noted the user-friendly interface as a clear differentiator.
The most resonant piece of feedback, paraphrased: “We want to understand how Odoo can be aligned with our existing business processes and address our specific operational challenges.”
This captures the shift in Indian manufacturing’s ERP conversation. Buyers are no longer asking whether to adopt ERP. They are asking how to make it work for their specific reality.
One comment stood out above all others -a CNC automation manufacturer expressed interest in integrating hologram technology for 3D light images of their products within their ERP ecosystem. Ambitious. Unconventional. And a perfect illustration of the event’s theme –The Shape of Things to Come.
Automation is operational, not aspirational. Disconnected systems -Tally, Excel, WhatsApp, a separate CRM -remain the universal pain. The right implementation partner matters as much as the right platform. Mid-sized manufacturers are ready to move. And Industry 4.0 is no longer a future conversation -it is a present requirement.
